Cumberland Council is seeking your views on the types of new play equipment you’d like to see at the Kells play area, Whitehaven, when it is fully replaced. The existing equipment has reached the end of its serviceable life and will be removed in its entirety and replaced with new items which best suit the needs of residents.
The boundary wall and fencing around the play area are being renewed separately as part of a different programme of works, so this consultation focuses only on the play equipment itself.
We will ensure that high quality equipment (including seating) is provided, that the design is robust, and that the replacement facility will be long-lasting. Consideration will be given to inclusive equipment, suitable for less able users, wherever possible.
Play equipment images are illustrative only and shown to help identify each term, not a specific make or model. Click on an image in the survey to view an enlarged version.
