Proposed Arrangements for Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools 2026 - 27

Overview

All schools must have admission arrangements that clearly set out how children will be admitted, including the criteria that will be applied if there are more applications than places at the school.  Admission arrangements are determined by admission authorities.  Cumberland Council (the local authority) is the admission authority for all community and voluntary controlled schools with the local authority area of Cumberland.

What happens next

The consultation closes on 17^th November 2024.  Any responses that have been received will be reviewed.  Responses will be used to inform the final admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools for 2026-27.  The final arrangements will be presented, seeking approval, to the Council Cabinet in January 2025.

Subject to agreement, the final admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools for 2026-27 will be published on the Council website no later than 15 March 2025.
